Call of Duty….is actually going to be in The X Games….Cod….X Games….Did I miss something here?
I’m not as busy on here as I’d like to be. Work is busting my balls and whatnot, but I’m back for a minute. To celebrate, I’m gonna throw something new at you for a change. You see, I originally intended for this blog to be built using nothing but nerdy rants and reviews. Yeah, fuck that. Let’s talk about America, people.
Better yet, let’s talk about the good news. The good news is: we’re all alive. I’m grateful as hell for that. How about you? Earlier today, I found myself having very little to do and it’s not exactly jogging weather out here, so I figured, hey, why not mull over some serious topics in my head for a while? The shit is amazing, let me tell you. It’s relaxing, even when you’re thinking about negative things. Just throw on some soothing music and you’re good to go. Personally? I like listening to nature’s soundtrack the most. Rain forests, the ocean, a thunderstorm… You name it. I love it.
So I got to thinking about what makes us American. Don’t click away just yet, man. Let me explain. See, being American isn’t such a bad thing. Hell, it’s a damn good thing. You hear all the time about how this dude’s unhappy because he has to work two jobs, or how that girl’s blaming the President and illegal immigrants for all her financial problems. Listen, man. That’s not good. It’s not the right thing to do. I mean, who does that help? It doesn’t help the country and it for damn sure doesn’t help you.
I’m not about to claim I’m perfect. I’m far as fuck from it. I’ve got a weight issue and still live with my mom at age 21. Shit ain’t going exactly as I planned either, but that’s not reason enough for me to just stop moving forward. I’m not going to spend all that valuable time figuring out who to blame. That’s not me. It shouldn’t be you either and if it is, you’ve got to focus inward and discover a real solution for your troubles. It’s there, man. You won’t find it anywhere else. And if you ever make it big, don’t lock away all those millions. Everybody wants to be prepared for emergencies, but for real. Send some out to charity. Help a brother out every now and then. Those homeless guys you see on the side of the highway could use your assistance.
Give back to the economy. You know? The more money the government has, the more money we’ll have. And I’m not talking about a politician’s wallet. I’m talking about the government. Being American has gotten around to being viewed as a bad trend nowadays. “Oh, those lazy fucks in American and their failing economy, actin’ like a bunch of fools.” Why do we have to be those guys to everyone else? I bet you they’d sing a different song if we were being more productive and less wasteful with our time. Well, I’m not going to rant all night long. Enjoy a good night’s sleep and I’ll do the same.
Peace and God Bless ‘Murica.
Let’s talk about vidya gaemz for a second.
I’ve been awfully busy with work and haven’t had much time for play, but the time I do get, I cherish. I want to say the newest game I sat down to play was Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and I wasn’t disappointed by it. The game play was sweet, something I could get used to in under an hour, but I heard some people didn’t care too much for the ship sailing. I guess I can understand them. Personally, though? I thought it was amazing.
My copy mysteriously vanished after a visit from my younger brother. People wonder why I’m grumpy.
You know what game I really enjoyed back in the day? Onimusha: Warlords. Transitioning from today’s analog controls to the tank controls of Onimusha may be a pain in the ass for some, but it was a pain I grew to love as I hacked away at countless demons. Oh, the voice-acting. There’s never a time when I won’t talk shit about a game’s voice-acting and Onimusha's is certainly no exception to this. Capcom, for real.
For real, dawg.
At least Konami redeemed themselves after Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Know what I’m saying?
This has been a mindless rant from yours truly. Stay tuned for more. I think I feel a nostalgia trip is on the way.
ARE WE REALLY ALONE IN THE UNIVERSE? Scientists have discovered an Earth-like planet that may hold liquid water — a critical component to life as we know it. Read more here.
This is the coolest shit I’ve read about in a long time.
Native American skull returned to tribe more than 100 years later
After more than 100 years in the possession of a northern Michigan family, the skull of a Native American man has been returned to the tribe of his descendants.
Makes you wonder how they got that skull in the first place.
Man kills 1 year old son for disrupting his gaming….
I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed. I hope he drops the soap.
After having read the latest chapter of the Naruto manga, I admit that I’m left with far more questions than answers. Naruto and Sasuke, what are they to the ninja world now? How can they stop Madara? And probably most important is, what will they do after the battle has ended?
Let’s recap some. This is a spoiler warning for those who have not already read chapter 673.
Due to past events, both Naruto and Sasuke were each driven to the brink of death. Kishimoto would have you believe they were spared by a miracle, but come on, man. Main characters don’t die unless the plot calls for it. So they come back from this ordeal, stronger than ever before, and are ready to face Madara head-on.
I’m leaving out a lot of the details, I know. I just don’t feel like talking about alcohol in this blog. Sorry, Gaara fans. Naruto really stole the spotlight in this chapter. Even when he wasn’t shown on-panel, I wanted to see more of his character’s development. Not just his new jutsu, but his overall growth as well. The guy has come a long way from spray painting graffiti on his world’s equivalent of Mt. Rushmore.
While we’re on the subject of growth, let’s talk about Sasuke.
…Actually, let’s not. He didn’t really impress me any in this chapter. Maybe he won’t be jerking around in this week’s update, but who knows? I know he’s got the Rinnegan now and it looks like he’ll be able to use it together with his Sharingan. The potential is there even if I don’t think it will be fully realized. I’m a bit biased when it comes to that. I haven’t liked a single Rinnegan user since Nagato.
Besides that, I can honestly say I’m excited to see what’s in store for us come next chapter. The way Kishimoto set up the stage for Madara and our two heroes speaks volumes to me. I’m really reminded of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie in that regard. I guess that might have been an unintended shout-out to the final battle in that movie. Whether ir was or wasn’t intended, I noticed it and that gave me a dose of the feels.
Know what I’m saying?
That’s all for this blog. To my first-time readers, I’m a bit curious. Did anyone else see the reference to Bison’s fight with Ryu and Ken, or was that just me?
